This completely updated “Award Special” Goodman residence is both serene and chic, and is filled with light. An airy and open living room with wood-burning fireplace overlooks outdoor living space through walls of windows. The kitchen has been refreshed with butcher block countertops, new appliances—including an induction range—and opens on to a spacious dining area with oversized skylight, multiple pantry areas and a wine refrigerator. Four large bedrooms line the back of the house. A fifth bedroom, currently used as an exercise room/office, has additional storage space with outside access. Both bathrooms have been fully renovated including marble and penny tiles, new vanities, designer lighting, glass enclosed shower and Hanesgrohe fixtures. Nearly everything has been done…replacement windows, new floors throughout, new roof, skylight and air conditioner. This house is sited on a cul-de-sac corner with an expansive flat yard, large flagstone wrap-around patio, modern landscaping and a concrete driveway for three cars.

COMMUNITY
The historic community of Hollin Hills is comprised of approximately 450 mid-century modern homes designed and built by architect Charles Goodman and developer Robert Davenport. The homes are characterized by their large private wooded lots, sleek lines, and blending of interior and exterior vistas with their distinctive walls of windows. This close-knit community offers something for everyone from a book club to babysitting cooperatives to the Hollin Hills Orchid Society. Annual events such as the Fall potluck, the 4th of July picnic, Holiday caroling, and the bi-annual Hollin Hills House and Garden Tour bring together young and old alike and help to make this such a special place to live. The neighborhood was added to the National Register of Historic Places in September 2013. This provides formal recognition of the historic architecture and community planning of Goodman and Davenport and identifies nearly 475 contributing historic structures, including this house.
Hollin Hills is a neighborhood with covenants that govern your property. Any exterior modifications of your home will require approval from the Design Review Committee. For more information and copies of the covenants and DRC Guidelines, check out www.hollin-hills.org.
